Share The Love and Water Colors

One last card for the month.  I used the Spring Time Wishes stamp set.  Instead of coloring in the flowers, I simply stamped on colored cardstock and cut out.  I love these bright happy colors!  I swooshed some water color on a piece of watercolor paper.  While that was drying  I cut an overlay using the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge.  This one is found on page 84 of the booklet.  The centers of the flowers are one of my favorite accents, silver sequins.  This card was so fast and easy to put together!   All supplies can be purchased on my website HERE.

My Take On Water Coloring Techniques

I had so much fun playing with you all at Craft Night last night!  Remember to mark your calendars for our next one. March 18th!

Here is a recap for reference and for those that couldn't make it.

The Swoosh and Flick:  Grab some paint in your brush and start at one end and flick your wrist at the end to leave the brush strokes at the end.

Ombre:  A super easy way to add a background to your project.  Grab some paint and just stroke back and forth going off the edge, getting lighter as you go up the page.

Smoosh and Blend:  Wet your water color paper just a little bit.  Then grab some paint and smoosh onto your project.  After you get the desired paint smooshes.  Take a clean lightly wet brush and blend the colors, lightening the edges.

Smoosh and Blend with Splatters:  Ink up your brush then lightly tap on your finger to create splatters on your project.

You can order all these supplies on my website.  Happy water coloring everyone!

Create For Days with Charlotte!

I am loving Close to My Heart's new Workshop Your Way Collections!  I played with the Charlotte Workshop Your Way and I was amazed at how much I could really get out of one kit for the low price of $26.95!

The kit includes:
1 – Charlotte Paper Packet (X7205B) - 10 patterned paper (double sided) and 2 Picture My Life Card Sheets
1 – Charlotte Complements (X7205C)
3 – Cardstock Sheets (1 Black, 2 Whisper)
1 – Black and Gold Ribbon (Z3197)
1 – Treasured Puffies (Z3203)

First I downloaded the PDF cutting guide provided by Close to My Heart HERE.  This guide walks you through how to cut your papers to create 3 layouts and 9 cards!

Here are what the layouts look like:

And the cards, you can create 3 of each = 9 total

I then created a Picture My Life layout using the card sheet provided.  This is a new way to scrapbook for me.  It is very popular right now, so I thought I would give it a try.  I plan on printing my favorite photos from my phone each month and adding it to my Picture My Life Album.  This style is less "formal" and I can journal about some of those events that happen that may not make it to a traditional layout.  It is so fast and easy to put together!  I showed my kids and they loved it!  I am excited to continue this throughout the year.

I had one more Picture My Life sheet left, so naturally I made cards out of them!  Using the Spring Time Wishes stamp set I was able to create these in minutes!  I am always needing thank you cards!

Let's recap.  I created 3 traditional layouts.  1 PML layout, and 12 cards.  That's amazing for the $26.95 price tag!

You can order your very own Charlotte Workshop Your Way Kit on my website.  Grab your paper trimmer, adhesive, and enjoy!

La Vie En Rose meets Winning Combination

I was honored to be asked to teach a card making class at my ward's enrichment activity this week.  I knew exactly what I wanted to teach!  I love showing people how to make 4 different cards by using just one pattern.

I took the Winning Combination pattern from the Originals Card Confidence Program and the La Vie En Rose paper packet and went crazy creating.

These papers are beautiful and paired with the  Over the Moon stamp set make a perfect Valentines Card.

This is the card we made.  I used Pomegranate Cardstock under the sentiment.  I added Gold and Black Ribbon and Gold Sequins as accents.

By rotating the pattern you can get several more variations of cards.  Sorry about the glare, I had already attached these to my display board before I remembered to take pictures.

This one is the same, but I changed up the papers and colors and tied a knot instead of a bow.

This one is the same too, but added more interest with shimmer trim and circles.  This card was inspired by Karen Naylor.

With this one I moved the pieces to the right of the card and dove tailed the ends.  I added shimmer trim under the sentiment.

With this one I moved the pieces to the top of the card and added some flowers cut from the Artistry Cricut Cartridge.  The centers of the flowers are one of my favorite accents to have on hand and come from the Gold Fundamental Assortment

This was my most favorite creation.  I moved the papers to the bottom of the card.  Layering the polka dot with Poppy Paper and the flower cut from the same color just adds so much to this card!  I love bling and you can never have enough.  I used Clear Sparkles for the center of the flower.  The flower was cut from the Artistry Cricut Cartridge.

I hope everyone enjoyed this class, I enjoyed teaching it!  I can't wait to see what you all create!
