Christmas Tree Card

Sorry this image is sideways.  I'll see if I can fix it, but I wanted to get this posted before Christmas for those that needed a last minute idea.  I was inspired by one of my cute customers and card swappers Ann.  See her original creation HERE.  This card was so easy and used up some of my scraps!

I used Pear & Partridge paper packet.  I distressed all the edges using CTMH's distressing inks in chocolate.  I cut the star using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and Creme Brulee cardstock.  Tied a bow with natural hemp and added pewter brads to the edges.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and happy holiday!

Christmas Creations 2012

I made these three items to give out as gifts this year.

The snowman is a Symphony bar wrapped in white cardstock.  I cut the eyes and nose using my cricut and the Art Philosophy Cartridge.   I used the CTMH chalk marker for the eyes.  I used a black marker for the smile and then sponged a little blush ink on the cheeks.   I found the hats at Tai Pan last year on clearance.  The scarf is just fabric scraps.

Hot Chocolate Card: When I saw the October stamp of the month I thought of this idea.  I used Desert Sand Cardstock for the base cut at 9 1/2 x 4 inches.  I then scored it at 3 1/2 and at 4 inches.  I used the Pear & Partridge paper packet for the patterned papers.  The mittens are cut using the Cricut and the Artiste Cartridge and stamped with New England Ivy Ink.  I tied a bow with hemp and created the pocket for the hot chocolate using pewter brads.

The last gift I made was super easy, but always gets rave reviews.  I cover Hershey Nuggets with patterned paper and put in a bag.  I like to tie a tag or small trinket with tulle.

A Year In Review

Have I mentioned lately how much I love Studio J?  No?  Well let me say it again, I LOVE STUDIO J!  Since having a baby a month ago, life has been crazy!  Every year we do a layout for my Mom.  A year in review for our family.  I've been a little overwhelmed and didn't know if I would get it done in time.

I had a precious few minutes while baby napped so I hurried and downloaded my pictures into Studio J.  A day later I had another few minutes so I placed all my pictures on the predone layout (I forget the correct name of the collection at the moment) while supervising homework of my oldest child.  Multitasking at it's finest!  Journal was a cinch, clicked order, and it will arrive tomorrow!  Christmas has been saved!

My Novmeber Thank You Card Swap Card

Another Pinterest inspired card!  On the new Artiste Cricut Cartridge there is a tower.  I wondered what I was ever going to do with it, then I saw a version of this card on pinterest and a light bulb went off.  Super simple, but I thought it was a fun idea.  I added some clear sparkles to jazz it up a bit and then used a black marker to hand write Merci on each card.

If you would like to join our December Christmas Card/Tag swap let me know by Friday November 2nd!

Artistic U Recap

Over the weekend I was able to attend Artistic U.  A retreat put together by CTMH consultants.  While it was a winter wonderland outside the largest cabin I've ever seen, we were cozy inside crafting away.  Here are a few of the projects they had for us to do.
This bookmark was easy and fun.  They "melted" two shapes together from the Artiste Cricut Cartridge to make one complete shape using Cricut craft room.  I so need to figure out that program!
This notebook was super easy, but how cute it is!  The pen has one or our Cricut flowers on top instead of the typical silk flower.
Another quick and fun project, a witches broom.  They put a chocolate licorice piece inside a 1x8 baggie.  We used liquid glass to attach the Autumn Terracotta paper for the broom part and then tied hemp to attach the tag.  The tag was stamped using the Halloween Perfect Fit Stamp Set (B1413).  What a fun party favor!

Rumor has it they will be doing this retreat again in the spring!  Ask me how you can be one of the lucky ones to attend this event!

Super Hero Card

I've been MIA in blogland lately.  I have been getting ready for a boutique I'm participating in next month.  I've been so busy crafting, I haven't had the time to take pictures and post some of those creations.  Sorry about that.

Here is one of the cards I made for the boutique.  I had leftover Super Hero paper and badges.  I thought they would make a perfect card for any little or big boy for any occasion really.  They are simple, but "super" fun!

My August Swap Card

This is the card I made for our August card swap.  Yes, I went a little crazy making diapers, but with the new Cricut Artiste cartridge it was so easy!

What I used:
Cricut Artiste
White Cardstock
Baby Pink Cardstock
Sweet Leaf Cardstock
Heavenly Blue Cardstock
Buttercup Cardstock
Stamp Set from the WOTG Spellbound

How I did it:
I set my Cricut for the diaper to: 3 1/2" Card Shift V (pg.64)
For the insert I set my Cricut to:  3 1/2" Card V (pg.64)

*This will give you 2 diapers and 2 inserts per piece of cardstock*

I then used the pattern stamp out of the WOTG Spellbound kit to stamp the pattern on the diapers using the coordinating ink before I folded them.

New Idea Book Party Recap

Thanks to those ladies who came last night, we had a great time!  If you were unable to attend here is a recap of the evening:

Everyone was greeted with a FREE copy of the new idea book!  We browsed the new book and talked about a few of the new products: new colors, markers, smaller ink pads, new how-to book, workshop on the go kits (cards, parties, and home decor), cricut cartridge (700 more images!), and of course new paper packets and accents.  You can see the online version of the idea book HERE.

We then made some of the items included in the SPELLBOUND WORKSHOP ON THE GO kit.  This kit includes all the supplies and instructions to make a banner, cupcake wrappers, cupcake picks, treat bags, and drink wrappers for a party for 8.  So easy to make the perfect party for Halloween!

We also made one non-Halloween item, a card using the new FLIRTY paper packet.  I got the idea from our new how-to program MAKE FROM YOUR HEART- VOLUME 1.

Most of these items were cut using our new Artiste Cricut Collection.  It has 700 images!  It has a lot more 3D items.  It includes so many fun shapes and boxes for all the holidays and seasons of the year.  I'm having so much fun creating with this cartridge!

We also played with Studio J.  Studio J has a new section of layouts to make online scrapbooking even easier!  The layout is done for you, you simply add your photos and journaling and you're done!  All the new paper packets have been added online.  Studio J has a new lower price of $6.95 per layout and you get a free jpeg.  If you just want the jpeg it's only $2.95.  No membership fees!

We also talked about a new way to earn FREE product!  I'm calling it the Crafters Club.

Lucky To Know You

This is a little late in the month, but I figured this could be used anytime of the year, not just in March. This is what we gave our visiting teaching ladies. I used the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the hearts to make a clover. The stem I free cut out of extra card stock. The dotted paper is from a special paper collection that will be coming soon to CTMH!
