Stamp Together

I'm going to my Close To My Heart's unit Stamp Together today! I'm so excited! We get together to swap items we've made and to see great projects everyone has been working on. My awesome leader in CTMH always has a fabulous project for us to make. Can't wait!

Remember the tag I made a few posts ago? Well, this is what the finished project looks like. I made these to swap with other consultants. I'll post more of the awesome stuff I get today later.

Back To School Snack Mix

It's back to school for us and I know my little guy will be hungry when he gets home. At our house we don't want to let go of summer yet, so a Smore's Snack Mix is a good compromise.

I found a Smore's Snack Mix recipe on sparkpeople.com and they said they originally got it from hungrygirl.com. I put my own little twist on it, so I have now renamed it to Back To School Snack Mix.

Back To School Snack Mix
2 cups Smart Pop Popcorn
3/4 cup Golden Grahams Cereal
3/4 Cup Cocoa Puffs Cereal
2/3 Cup mini marshmallows
6 Tootsie Roll Midgees

Directions
Chop Tootsie Roll Midgees into very small pieces.

In a sealable plastic bag or an airtight container with a lid, combine Tootsie Roll pieces with all of the other ingredients. Secure bag or container and shake thoroughly.

Makes 5 one cup servings. 100 calories per serving!
I mixed mine up in a gallon sized baggie and then put in small containers to keep until snack time. You can make a large batch and put in baggies to add to lunches or a snack on the go. My favorite is when I get a tootsie bite!

Monkey Bars

I got this recipe from utahdealdiva.com. I believe she got it from this months Women's Day magazine. It was easy and very yummy. Two thumbs up from the kiddos and a neighbor who I had to borrow the chocolate chips from. I can't wait to try it with pumpkin for fall!

Monkey Bars

1 2/3 cups mashed, ripe bananas {about 5 bananas}
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup oil { I used applesauce instead!}
1/4 cup milk
2 large eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips {You can use more}
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 15x10.5' pan with foil and spray with non-stick spray

Whisk all ingredients except for the flour and chocolate chips. Gradually add in flour until just blended. Mix in half the chocolate chips.

Spread the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle remaining chips on top. Bake 15-20 minutes, until a wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

I cut them into 3x3 squares gives you about 18 servings.
I plugged all the ingredients into sparkpeople.com and got these stats. Not to bad for a big bar of yum!
