Project a Day in May. Day #28

It's that time of year we honor and celebrate our veterans and those loved ones who have left this earth before us.  It's a very emotional weekend for me.  The number of loved ones we visit on Memorial day is getting bigger and I don't like it.  I know it's part of life, but I don't have to like it do I?  So I decided instead of being sad I want to celebrate their lives and celebrate those good memories I have with them.

This card is was designed by Janel Brinkerhoff.  I tried to capture the depth of the card.  The stars are popped with red behind.  The celebrate stamp is from the Celebrate with Cake stamp set (only available in May).  The patterned paper comes from the Magical paper packet.

All products used are from Close to My Heart and can be purchased on my website www.juliescott.ctmh.com.

Project a Day in May # 27

I cut my middle finger, bad enough to affect the nerves. I will spare you and not post a picture of my finger. I little cut won't stop me from crafting, just slow me down a little. Enjoy #27 of project a day in May.
This card was a lot of paper piecing! I stamped the cake a few times on different pieces of patterned paper and then cut out and glued them together to get the different layers of the cake. Same with the candles and cake plate. It took some time, but I love how it turned out.
Products used: May stamp of the month- Celebrate with cake, Happy Times paper packet, flamingo dots, and white shimmer trim.

Happy Times paper packet and the Celebrate with Cake stamp set are ONLY available in May or while supplies last.  Order yours today!  You won't want to miss having these in your stash!

NOW ON TO THE AMAZING ARTWORK!

This card was designed by Sheri Rottler.  She used the Magical paper packet and
C1644 Beyond Awesome stamp set.  The bling is from the Blue Dots (item # Z3122)

This card was designed by Nicole Peck.  She used Calypso Paper Packet and the Tickled Pink stamp set (item # C1651).  The Tickled Pink set has coordinating thin cuts to get a perfect edge every time!  The bling is Calypso Sequins and Black Shimmer Trim.  Life is really better with friends!

This card was designed by Shara Gibson.  She used the Magical Paper Packet.  Pretty sure the flower was cut with one of our Cricut Cartridges and the bling is a red enamel gem (item # Z3090)

This card was designed by Tracy Adams.  Again, the adorable Tickled Pink stamp set and Calypso paper was used on this card.  The flowers are a discontinued item, but the centers are appropriately called Flamingo Dots (item# Z1934)

This card was designed by Lori Bryson.  She used the Florence paper packet and M1142 Happy, Happy Birthday stamp set.  The bling is from the Florence sequins collection (item Z3213)

This card was designed by Jill Thomason.  Can't get enough of the Flamingo!  Tickled Pink Stamp set, Calypso Paper Packet and Sequins.  Jill, you are Fabulous!

This card was designed by Tiffany Zaugg.  She used Florence paper packet and the matching sequins.   The stamp set is called Congrats (item # M1138)

Last but not least, the card I created for one of our make and take projects.  I used the Happy Times paper packet (the special this month).  The Celebrate with Cake stamp set is May's stamp of the month.  Both paper and stamp set are only available this month!  I used Golden Yellow and Tender Pink Shin Han markers and Bitty Sparkles (Z1263) for a little bling.  I love, love creating with this combination.  I will be sad when it's gone at the end of the month!

I hope these projects inspired you and
a huge thank you for my team for creating these awesome cards!

This bouquet stamp is so fun to work with!  It is called A Bunch of Love.  You can change the look by simply changing the color of the flowers.  You can use markers or water colors to add the colors you want.  Even better, this set has a coordinating thin cut so you get a perfect boarder everytime! This card also uses the Florence paper Packet and sequins.

Project a Day in May. Day #14

I want to wish a very happy birthday to my little brother Ryan!

This is the card I made just for him.  I loved creating a card with the recipient in mind.  I have to admit, it didn't come easy.  I knew what I wanted to do, but I struggled with the colors.  Making boy cards is hard!

I used water colors for the image and added a little shin han markers to the flame and cake stand to add a darker color.  And that is as far as I got before I got stuck.  I wasn't sure what papers to use to layer under the cake piece.

I think the best thing to do sometimes is to walk away from your project and come back later with a new perspective.  After reading a post on Close to My Heart's Blog about mixing patterns the light bulb went on!  I took two different patterns from two different paper packets to finish off the card.

I am really happy with how it turned out and I hope Ryan has a wonderful birthday!

You can read the blog post from Close to My Heart HERE

 Products I Used:

I mixed patterns from the Magical Paper Packet and the Happy Times Paper Packet.  You can get a FREE Happy Times paper packet with a $60 purchase or you can purchase it for the retail price of $14.95.  It is only available for the month of May or while supplies last.

I am really loving this cake stamp set!  This set is only available in May.  You can purchase it for $17.95 or for $5 with a $50 purchase.

Other products used: Water Color Paints and brushes, Warm Grey and Golden Yellow Shin Han Markers.

Project a Day in May. Day #12

A Project a Day in May, Day 12.
I love this bright and cheery card designed by Denise Anderson-Turley. If you have noticed istores Flamingos are everywhere right now!
CTMH was right on trend when designing the Calypso collection.

Denise used one of the new Cut Above card kits called Jubilee as a background paper.  Genius!  You get two cards our of one!

The flamingos look like they are stamped, but they are actually from the Calypso PML cards that come in the Calypso paper packet.  You get two sets of PML cards with each packet.

And of course we need bling!  I love the new patterns and colors in the Calypso Sequins Collection.

A little gold foil tape finishes of the card perfectly.

You can purchase all of these products on my website www.juliescott.ctmh.com

A Project a Day in May. Day #11

Clear the table it's time for some scrapbooking!
This is my project for day 11. How many pictures do you think I printed of my Europe vacation? Comment with your guess and the closest person will get a goodie from me.

This might look daunting but I am using Close to My Hearts Everyday Life album and page protectors to slip my pictures into. Very fast and easy, which I need with as many photos as I have and what little time I have to do it.

I will be using the Happy Times paper to fill in where I need to and to add color and fun to my album.

I am so excited to get my pictures off my phone and computer and into an album that is easy to share with others or just to flip through myself to remember the amazing adventure I was so lucky to go on.

All of these products can be purchased on my website www.juliescott.ctmh.com

A Project a Day in May. Day #8

Happy Mother's Day to all the ladies in my life.  "Thanks a Bunch" for your friendship!

The papers and zip strip for this card come from one of our newest paper packets, Florence.  I love the bright and fun colors and then the neutrals to make them pop.

When I saw this stamp set in the new idea book I knew I had to have it!  It is called A Bunch of Love (C1647).  It has great sentiments and the flowers are so fun!  You can color in with markers or water colors.  The possibilities are endless!  It also has a coordinating thin cut to make it a breeze to get the perfect border every time!

Adults like to color too!  I used Shin Han markers to color in the flowers.  The colors are Warm Grey, Turquoise Blue, Carmine, Leaf Green, and Golden Yellow

Project A Day In May. Day #7

No joke, this card was so easy to put together.  I got the idea off of pinterest.  I changed mine up just a little bit.

The background paper is from the Happy Times paper packet.  Isn't the woodgrain absolutely to die for?  This is one of my favorite pieces in the packet.  I layered it on a piece of Whisper cardstock.

I then stamped the cake layers in black onto white cardstock and cut them out.  I also stamped the flowers in black then water colored them.  After they dried I cut them out with our awesome micro tip scissors.

I used 3D foam to pop the cake and flowers.  A little 3D foam adds so much to your project!  It's a must have for any crafter.

The Celebrate is also stamped in black.  All the stamps come from the May Stamp of the Month called Celebrate with Cake.  I added some bitty sparkles to the cake because every project needs a little bling.   I always have sparkles on hand.

This card would be perfect for a birthday or it's pretty enough for a wedding!  Such a versatile stamp set for celebrations.  I love it!  Can't wait to make more with this set.

Available for May only.  Can be purchased for $17.95 or only $5 with a $50 purchase

Available for May only or while supplies last.  Free with a $60 purchase or $14.95.  Matching stamp set only $17.95.
