Scrapin' The Night Away
This past weekend I went to a scrapbooking overnighter. I had a blast with my roomies, got a lot done, and stayed up way to late (4:30am to be exact). I mainly worked on cards. I used my scraps I had leftover from other projects and accents I have had hanging around for awhile. I made a dent in my supply stash, but I still have a ton more. I guess I'll be making more cards! Here are a few I made while I was there. Sorry about the sideways ones. Hubby will have to help me fix that.

Tu Tu
Yesterday I ventured into the fabric store and bought some tulle to make a tutu for my daughters Halloween costume. There wasn't much to choose from. I guess it's a poplur thing to make this time of year. It was very easy and took maybe an hour to do. I found instructions on youtube here.
You'll need:
4 yard of tulle (or more depending on how big the person you're making it for is)
3 yard ribbon (they suggest satin, I used grograin because that's what I had)
ruler
scissors
Here is the finished product. My daugther refuses to put it on, so no model for the picture, hopefully by Halloween she'll change her mind.
Note: I used the sparkley tulle. It leaves glitter everywhere! Although it looks so cute, be aware you'll shine for awhile along with your kids and husband.

Meatballs & Rice
I found this recipe on a website called Simply Supper. I love it. Josh thinks it's okay. The kids like the meatballs. It's so easy and something you can put together and have cook in a few hours.
25 meatballs, cooked and frozen
1 jar of Salsa
1 can of Cranberry Sauce
Mix cranberry sauce and salsa with a wire whisk. Pour sauce in a slow cooker. Add frozen meatballs. Cook on low 4-5 hours, or high 2-3 hours. Spoon meatballs and sauce over rice.

Smore's
Smore's
2 fudge striped cookies
1 large marshmellow
Roast marshmellow over a fire. Take the two cookies and smoosh the warm gooey marshmellow between them. Enjoy.
You can also make these in the microwave. Place marshmellow in microwave. Heat for a few seconds. Remove from microwave and smoosh between two striped cookies.

Lemon Squares
These are my favorite thing to make if I'm asked to bring a dessert to an event. They are super, super easy! Can you see a trend in my cooking? Everything has to be easy! When I take them places they get rave reviews and is one of my most asked for recipes. I originally got this recipe from a neighbor. I belive it came from the 101 things to do with a cake mix recipe book.
Lemon Squares
1 Lemon cake mix (Duncan Hines Lemon Supreme cake mix seems to turn out best)
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil
Preheat oven to 350
In a bowl, mix together, cake mix, eggs, and oil. Mixture will be stiff. Spread the mixture evenly into a greased 9x13 pan (it will look really thin, but it will puff up). Bake 13-15 minutes until slightly golden on top. Cool, then sprinkle powdered sugar over the squares.
Special Note: Thanks to my little brother who's a great photographer for teaching me how to photograph food better and taking this picture for me.
